Failing Forward

In this quick video I chat with my good friend, Erik Tomalis, Chief Evangelist and Director of Business Development at Virtuous about failure.

There are three simple points I want to share with you today.

  1. Every leader wants (at some level) to be seen as successful in every area of their lives, and chasing this can put immense pressure on the leader.

  2. We all make mistakes. It’s impossible to make any significant impact in the world without making mistakes.

  3. In 99.9% of instances, you can survive, learn, and grow from your failures.

Stop trying to be perfect. Chasing perfection will hurt you and your leadership.

Be real. Be honest. Be vulnerable.

As you test and try new things you are going to fail. You’ll fail at work, in your personal relationships, and in just about every aspect of life.

I know I do.

What’s important is that you learn from each failure, and you find ways to change tomorrow based on what you learn from today’s failures.

Thanks for reading Leadership Growth Newsletter! This post is public so feel free to share it.
