How do you know if your leadership is successful?
Is your success based on business KPI’s like sales and revenue growth? Year-over-year EBITDA growth?
Sure, those are important KPI’s for any business to track and measure against.
But those aren’t the things that tell you whether you’re a successful leader or not.
Instead, focus on these true key indicators of leadership success:
People are eager to follow your leadership
Your team or company are experiencing high levels of employee retention and engagement, and low turnover
Your people are regularly promoting your organization as a great place to work and are actively recruiting their friends and other smart people to join your team
Team members tell you (through surveys and in-person discussions) that they get fulfillment out of the work they’re doing every day
You can track a lot of different success indicators in your organization. But if you want to know whether you’re leading effectively or not, these four metrics above are the ones I’d focus on.
Cheers!
Andrew
